Off Site-Old Ft Defiance

This will be limited to 80 persons, and you must pay in advance. Cost is $20 person and 4 small gifts as an offering to the Medicine Man, Drummer, Fire Chief, and Seater.  This can be sage, sweet grass, oils, money, gifts from your heart or homeland. Please no ancient pottery, snake or owl products.

5:30 p.m. Will meet at the front of the Tsehootsooi Medical Center.

We will travel in personal vehicles. There will be a portable bathroom if you need to use facilities. You will  sitting on the ground and exposed to smoke and firewood. A small dinner will be provided after the ceremony. Women should wear a long skirt and have shoulders covered. Please be respectful to the Navajo Community and their culture. This is an honor to be welcomed to our Medicine Community.

Sunday August 5, 2018

7:30 a.m.   Meet at Quality Inn parking lot to hike. We will caravan to Canyon de Chelly to hike down to "White House Ruins". We will be taking personal vehicles. This is a moderate hike, so please bring plenty of water and snacks. The sun can be very intense during the morning and into the afternoon, so please make sure you have a hat and sunscreen. For those that do not want to hike, you can sit at the top and meditate or drum. Please be respectful of the culture. It is a quiet and reflective place to be one with nature and the mother.

5:30-9:00 p.m. Potluck Close Out dinner at Mechelle's House. Please bring and dish and network.

Music will be provided by our Native American Music Fund Instructors and Special Guests.
